Stellenbosch & Elgin Trails
This is a MTB wonderland
Home to events like the Mercedes-Benz UCI Cross-Country World Cup, the world famous legendary Cape Epic and South Africa's favourite MTB race - Wine2Whales, this region is made for mountain biking.

From the Cross Country paradise of Oak Valley to the pristine trails of Banhoek to the challenging climbs and descents of the majestic Jonkershoek trails, there is a place for everyone. So whether you're new to mountain biking or you're a seasoned rider, there is a ride here made just for you.
Banhoek Conservancy is home to magnificent mountain vistas and some of the most pristine MTB trails on the planet. Opposite the famous Dark Fest venue at Helshoogte, Banhoek has immaculate trails that can be enjoyed by both beginner and advanced riders.
Surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery, Jonkershoek is perhaps better suited to the experienced MTB rider looking for an exhilarating trail riding experience. However, with care and a steady pace, these trails, at least most of them, can be enjoyed by most riders.
Oak Valley is nestled below the towering Groenlandberg mountain in the Grabouw - Elgin Valley. This area is a mecca for mountain biking as is evident by its inclusion in some of Cape Town's most prestigious MTB stage racing events like Wine2Whales and the Cape Epic.
